I'm looking at purchasing a TC29D (or possibly 33). I've heard that NH is coming out with a new loader. Is it feasible to buy the tractor now without a loader and have the new loader installed later? I'm new to the whole tractor scene so I'm not sure how complicated it is to install.

Thanks,
Carlton

Carlton, most current model FEL"s are easily installed with common hand tools to mount the brackets that stay on the tractor when you dismount the loader, then the brackets stay on the tractor and normaly no tools are needed to mount and dismount the loader after ther initial mounting. That sounds like a good idea to wait till the new model comes out, then you likely could have your choice between a leftover current model or the new model. Sometimes buying a current model with a proven releliabiblty record is'nt all bad as problems can show up in new models of most anything after they are given the test of time. Another thing to consider is that you might get a better price on a package deal of the tractor and a current model loader, new models normaly have a price increase involved. Have fun shopping. ....

Hey Carlton, I am in the same situation with the same tractors. What have you heard about the new loader? Is it the 14LA? All I have heard is the spring but the dealers dont know anything. ....

My dealer was able to confirm through N.H.engineering that the 14LA will not be available until next october. Of coarse i've been waiting since last summer as they said it would be out in the spring time. I can't be out a front loader for any amount of time more less next fall. The 7308 is a good loader and with a slight trist on the valve with a screwdriver, it makes a remarkable difference. ....

I just added a FEL to my TC29D, which I bought 3 years ago. The cost of adding one is much higher than the cost of getting it when you buy the tractor! I heard the cost of getting it with the tractor is around $3000 or less. To add the 7308 was $3800 and with the skid steer compatible quick attach bucket it's about $4500. I ended up going with an aftermarket one, Bush Hog M246, because I could get it with the skid steer compatible quick attach bucket for $3600. The M246 also has a much higher lift capacity than the 7308 and they can match the OEM color. ....

I recently traded my TC18 with the old style loader arms for a new TC24D with the new style (12LA)loader setup. The new system is a huge improvement over the old!!! Try one before you buy...you'll agree!!! ....

KH,

I'm new to this Board and I noticed your comment below... Would you please elaborate a bit for me or refer me to a previous message string I have missed... Thanks very much,

I have heard that the new loader will not install on the current tractors. I am lead to understand that NH is going to do a minor upgrade to the class II boomers, so when you see the new loader, you will also see a revised tractor. I have no direct connection to the factory so please take this as only rumor.
As for the altering of the loader pressure, I would not recommend it. I'm sure that NH realizes that their stats compared to the competition are very light. If it were that simple, the factory could have done the easy fix. Just lends creedence to the rumor they are upgrading the tractor.

In regard to my comments earlier about the Bush Hog M246. At that time I had ordered the FEL and according the specs I felt I was getting a better FEL than the New Holland 7308. But, now the M246 is on my tractor and I regret it! The M246 is 537 lbs heavier than the 7308, which I didn't know about before, and the added weight is requiring that I add way more weight to the back of the tractor, so by the time I get done the TC29D will be much heavier than I want. Also, the M246 mounting brackets are in the way of engine maintenance, even when the FEL is detached. For example, I can't even check the oil now without opening the hood.

My advice is to get the 7308 with the tractor when you buy it. It will be cheaper in the long run.

Danny, all the folks who want to save 500 bucks by putting an after market loader on their new tractor need to read your posting.

That extra weight almost amounts to what a load of dirt in the bucket would weigh. And the maintenance hassles would put it over the top for me too.

Thanks for the information, I am going to bookmark it for future reference.

The rumor is a litle more updated. The new loader will not fit the current TC33. NH is revising the TC33 to a new model and adding the 14LA or 15LA loader along with some other features. Look for it about the first of the year along with other revisions in the lineup.

Hey Guys I'm new to the board but I have learned alot in just the last few days. I'm was selling my JD 750 4wd and getting ready to purchase what I had thought would be the perfect replacement, a TC33D and was going to wait for the new 14LA FEL when it came out! Now I don't know what to do?
Is there any way to confirm if the 14LA will fit the current TC33D? The TC35 is little big for my use, maybe I should reconsider it or wait on the new TC33D purchase all together until new models come out?
Thanks for all your help
Richie ....
