Larry, I couldn't help Jim either, but a sector shaft is the (normally) splined shaft coming out of the steering gearbox to which is attached a pittman arm and then to the rest of the steering mechanism. ....

Thanks for the information Bird. I suspect a part like that will have to come from the OEM or a used source. ....

Larry, Bird was right about the sector shaft. It is the shaft that comes out of the gear box and the pitman arm splines onto. It got broke when I was pulling stumps and got the sterring pinch on another stump and caused a binding affect that over steered the front wheels and of course something has to give. Ihope it never happens to any one. The real fun was trying to get back to the garage to tear it down. thanks everyone for the responses and you too Bird ....
