My 254 won't start. At first it would fire, run for 10-15 seconds and shut off (like right now). I figured it was electrical, so after wiggling and jiggling wires it fired up and ran for about 2 hours, than it started to lag and when I tried to give it fuel it shut off and hasn't started again. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

When have you changed the fuel filter? Have you checked for water in your fuel, assuming you have a clear fuel filter/water seperator so you can see to know, could your fuel be old enough to be gelled. Possible trash in the fuel pickup tube in the fuel tank. Probably not it but how about your air filter. kt ....

Thanks for the quick get back.
In the last couple of days I have replaced the fuel filter, air filter, drained the tank flushed out all the fuel lines, including the pick up tube. I refilled with fresh fuel and bled the filter and injector pump. I have run 5 tanks of fuel through the thing in the last 3weeks or so. This tractor hardly ever sits idle. I am starting to think it is the injector pump or a timing thing. ....

IMHO you had it right the first time. Electrical.
If it was mechanical such as timing, injectors or pump it would not be an intermittent problem.
I would be looking at the circuit that powers the fuel shut off solenoid. Pay close attention to all connections and especially the grounds. I would go so far as soldering each crimped on connector to ensure there is no bad connections too.
Best of luck. ....

NCWTractor agrees with Murf. But, we would like to add that the IH254 was made by Mitsubishi.
On those models there is an electronic solenoid that shuts off the fuel pump that is controled in link with your ignition switch and a control unit underneath the dash on the right hand side(check the side dash panel for 2 phillips head screws). You will find a control unit behind it. It will look like a voltage regulator (flat black box).
Pull out your solenoid and check it. It should have 2 wires. Hook a hot lead to one and a ground lead to the other. If it clicks every time you touch it with a ground lead it is still good. Your problem could be a bad connection somewhere or a problem with your control unit.
Hope this helps...
