I have a Cub Cadet 1450 hydro that goes fine in forward gear, but moves VERY slow in reverse. Is there a linkage adjustment or something, or do I have hydro problems?

It is just out of adjustment. I have a different model with the same trouble. I took the sheet metal cover off last summer but couldn't find any place for adjustment. My local dealer tech said it is easy to fix. ....

Sorry for the delay...been on vacation. It is not exactly where it is supposed to be when in neutral. My recollection is it shows slightly in reverse in order to make the tractor sit still. ....

My next question is how mechanical you are? Removing the center panel you would notice the transmission below you, on the front side of the trans is a frame that holds the linkage and is retained by two bolts needing a 9/16 wrench to barely loosen. It needs to be raised a little. do make this adjustment with the rear wheels raised and the tractor properly supported. This is the centering devise for the linkage and from time to time we find it gets bent from brake petal and hand lever engagement at the same time. ....

Art. You were right on. Had to make numerous linkage adjustments, but it works perfect now. Found a slight hydraulic leak...but will post that under separate title for the benefit of others. ....
