The local retirement home that my wife retired from on June 30th this year put on an event In their decorated barn last WED.for their residents and employees and their guest. My wife was a server while she worked there so she volunteered to help out with the party. ----->> There was free food and entertainment.
There was a couple who sang and played most all of the old folk songs. They were the best I've ever heard those songs done.
They had a unique style and really brought those songs to life so much so it made you feel like you were back there in those days. They were extremely good and oh so pleasant and care free to listen to.
A very relaxing and enjoyable day was had by all.

My favorite time of year is here! Hunting yard clean up (leaves) and general house maintanance. Get the mold off the north side of the house that is under one of the shower fan vents LOL You know the routine!
I actually enjoy rounding up the leaves. In my neck of the block it starts about this weekend and if I am lucky the last of the leaves will be on the ground before the perminant snow gets here in late Nov. I have 2 trees that will not drop leaves until after a good snow fall (or it seems that way!
The array of trees I have keeps the yard bustling most ALL fall, when one is clear another starts falling its leaves! Yes I do love this state! ....

This is a great time of the year, the leaves are at about peak color this weekend here and for a couple months in the fall you can have your pick of church dinners and the all you can stand to eat firehouse pancake feeds usually on Sunday mornings, there are two or three to pick from here today. then the endless fish suppers at local beer joints kick in in a month or so, no wonder I'm a bit overweight. happy eating, Frank. ....

Just got back from my annual fall tour. I spent it in Christmas, MI at the Yule Log Cabins on the Lake Superior shoreline which is just West of Munising in the U.P.

The color tour was good but the leaves turned early this year and was past peak time. The sun was out but very windy conditions. I ended up about $50.00 ahead at the local Injun casino. I'm only a small time gambler. ....

Just had a beautiful day Sunday(no work at home)with 15 friends on a wine country tour in a limo. Leaves were perfect, Lakes looked beautiful, company was good and the tour bus didn't break down. For the believe it or not,(was with a bunch of light weights)we still had enough time for another stop but they didn't want to!!! Lot's of laughs, good time had by all but we just got tired of sampling wine! Wagners was way backed up so the beer drinkers weren't that happy when we just left but at a store not far there was some beer purchased for them. ....
