I just noticed that my 03 JM-180 stopped
indicating oil pressure. I moved it to
the garage.
Coincidentally, I have been noticing that
my tach sometime starts up reading about
1/2 lower than normal.
Do I suspect the meter first ?
What should the sending unit resistance be?
Any clues on troubleshooting?

I can "ohm out" a spare sender if you like, but the best is to install an aftermarket gage (provided you have individual gages). mechanical type is preferred.
Normally it is the gage, especially if you have other electiral related problems. (If this is an all in one inst. panel, than I would suspect a bad 12v connection (ground is supplied by the sensors)). but you can still use a manual gage to test the true pressure better safe than sorry!
I have seen the pickup screens in the oil pan get plugged up if the critical 35-50hour oil change was not done properly. I just mention this to rule out that possibility.

I have the separate gauges...
I traced the problem to the sender
unit. I noticed the nylon gromet
under the single wire screw was
rotating when I tried to unscrew the
wire. When rotating I found a spot
where it works.
After removing the wire, digital ohms
was 20-40 Kohms.
Interesting, with the motor running, I
grounded the wire and the gauge went
up and the motor idle speeded up...
Question, I see no way to grasp the
sender to unscrew it. ....

To adjust the OPSU, first disconnect the wire from the sending unit center post. Loosen the lock nut behind the sending unit enough so you can rotate the OPSU right and left. Reconnect the wire, turn the ignition key ON. Do NOT start the engine. Rotate the OPSU right and left, and observe the resultant movement of the oil pressure needle. Adjust OPSU so needle is on zero. Turn off ignition, tighten OPSU lock nut.

The constant tightning of the terminal
to the oil prfessure is driving me nuts.
I want to convert to a standard oil pressure
meter.
Question
Is it a metric thread? Will a NAPA kit have
the correct oil pipe thread?

The OPSU unscrews from the extension pipe, but you're going to lose oil. Perhaps next time you change oil, take the sending unit and pipe to the NAPA store and show them what you need. The threads on the back of the sending unit are the same size as the threads on the block end of the extension pipe.
If they're not metric, I'd be really surprised. But I'm also pretty sure NAPA's got a metric kit anyway.

NAPA has a metric kit that includes the gauge,tubing, fitting for under $ 20.00,I have bought them before I just don't have the part #.Gauge fits the same hole as the factory one,

I read your post and went right to
Napa in Hancock,NY and picked up the]
metric kit ($22 with tax).
Went in fine.
Connected the two red leads togeather and
taped all floating wires.
Oil change and 5 quarts of 10w30 and
pressure came up to 75 psi.
No leaks so far.
Now to see if I can fix the fluctuating
tach.

Be sure you used DIESEL rated (CF or better) oil. Usually 15w40 but I suppose now days you can get it in a 10w30.
REmember these engines are old technology, todays lighter oils are designed for closer tolerance fitting parts in moder engines and reduced drag for better fuel milage. heavier oil cushions parts better...IMHO.
