I have an old JD 116 that has become very weak. It is firing on both cylinders. Just re-did valve clearance to make sure they were OK, and power remained weak. Engine is OLD, burning oil, etc. Not sure RPM is where it should be - seems slow and my attempts to adjust governor not working. 3 questons:

What else would cause low power ??

Can these be overhauled without adding a steel sleeve to cylinder??

If I need to re-power, how do I find out engine output shaft specs without removing engine and measuring??

Thanks,
Dennis
