I purchased a used gator and is there any way to look at the serial number and tell the year model or is there any location I can find a year stamp on the unit?

John Deere doesn't publish years on Gators, simply because sometimes they like to jump a year and call an old one a new one when it isn't. If you know what I mean. Your dealer can tell the year, the build date, when the warranty started, the original owner, equipment installed when delivered,any warranty work done and more if you give him your serial number. If the serial number tag isn't on the lower passenger side rear frame, it is on the top frame rail under the passenger seat. If it isn't there it is really old, probably a '93. ....
