John Deere Gator HPX 2500 Will not start.

After checking plugs (we have strong spark) we noticed that the clear tubing that enters the top of the carburetor right next to the fuel line is not terminated on the end of the tubing opposite of the carburetor.

At first I believed this to be some sort of overflow - but I noticed the disconnected end was flanged somewhat as if it had been terminated to a tube fitting. I have completely explored the engine and find no tube fitting that is missing a tube.

1) Could this tube be the cause of inability to start.
2) Does anyone know where it terminates?

Thanks
Alex

Tube is an overflow, if the other end is flanged someone put it on backwards. Take your fuel supply line off at the carb and turn the key on. If you get fuel and you have strong spark you need an ignition module. AM132577, around 350.00 ....
