Go Bottom6X4 Gator Starter Problem

I have a 2001 Gator 6X4. It starts OK 1st time, then after warming up it whirls 3 to 4 times before engaging starter. Sorta like a bad bendix on an old small blosk Chevy. Need a new starter, solenoid, or both? Any ideas? Thanks!

It is sorta like a bendix on an old small blosk Chevy, but now it's on a FD620D Gator. You need a new starter drive. I believe Deere calls it a starter clutch............. ....
