I am trying to find out whether there is a site oor info that is available re: MSRP vs. dealer cost for JD tractors like there is for cars and trucks. I am looking at a 5420. Thanks.

I don't know of a price list like you requested, but the general rule seems to be that people can get from 10-20% off of list prices. Of course that varies from region to region and model to model. ....

That 5420 is a NICE tractor! Pretty much as Ken said. Build and equip the tractor the way you want it and figure in a 10 - 20% discount. They have a real nice cab for that series tractor as well. The 5540 is like the other "King of the Hill" tractors and JD tacks on a hefty price tag for 8 more hp. ....

That is a good point Art.........never thought about that. I would have thought they are built as the same plant. I still would not be upset about owning either tractor! ;o) ....

I've been looking for the same info. Seems like City and State govt. gets 18% off list. I'm also looking at the 5420. If you read this, how about a follow up on what you've found out, and/or purchased? ....
