Nosteiner4me,

I'm sure you'll enjoy the tractor.....and I'm willing to bet that it won't be going back to the dealer. hehehe.

I like a dealer that lets a guy test out a new machine at home. The 2520s sure look nice. Have they fixed the cheesy tilt steering wheel mechanism? Be sure to let us know your impressions. If it's as good as my 4310 is I'm sure you'll be happy, but be sure to crawl underneath and make sure any loose wires are tied up nice and tight. ....

Ok test drove the 2520 over the weekend and it was very nice. The tires seem a little bumpy, knobby and probably switch to turf since just really mowing. I guess the big concern my wife has is that the machine had 2.9hrs on it and it has some rust spots already on the fenders and the rops. The tractor has been sitting outside for months on his lot. Would he be outraged if i told him to order me a new one without the rust? I would do the same with a new car that cost over $20,000. The 72 inch deck worked well even though it needs leveled right to left. I would keep the 72 inch deck,200cx loader some rust on bucket OK by me, and just need new mower? or is it a stupid request? I am paying cash for this thing too. ....

KW...Forgot to mention about the tilt steering wheel. Yeah they fixed it alright and made it tiltless. ....

I think most of the JD compact models with tilt wheel are also tiltless :)

As far as the condition of the machine, it seems that a few rust spots on new machines of all brands are common. New car expectations don't really apply (not that they shouldn't). A little surface rust is not a big deal, the tractor will look used soon enough. ....

Congrats.

I wouldn't get too excited about tilt steering either, at least on the Kubotas the tilt only allows the wheel to move a couple of inches. I don't think any of ours ever get moved. I know my own hasn't moved since I got it, even my ex who was really tiny didn't bother to move it.

My girlfriend is about 5'8" so tilt isn't needed at all, figuring out how to keep her of it so I can play with it myself is my only concern now. ;)

Best of luck. ....

Nostiener; I'm sure the dealer would order you a new one, but the small rust spots aren't that hard to correct. I'm sure you would pay a bit of a premium being he would have to bring the one you have back in and clean it up, and have a slighty higher houred new machine on the lot. The last two Deere's I bought I ordered simply because the dealer didn't have one on the lot that had the factory installed features I wanted. Frank. ....

Thx for the picture Dennis, the tractor is really awsome looking with the 72mmm and the loader attached. The loader comes on and off so simple. Will talk to the dealer today and make him a happy camper. I really bought this green thing on account of him. I looked at other colors local and they really didn't have the time for me for some reason. Maybe i got them on a bad day, i really don't know. I feel he will honestly help me if i have a problem and that was more important than color and he wasn't only the salesman, but the owner and he delivered it personally.

You will love the 2520 - and dont need the tilt either (they never had them in the prior lines too)

I will get around to update my pictures - I have done some amazing things with the 2520 & 46 BH - worked it hard, and it never faltered

Hi Duc.

Good to see you again! Did you add the 2520 to the Cub Cadet and the JD 4100, or did you replace one of them?

Dennis ....

Duc..the 2520 is a fast, powerful, sturdy machine, and with the 72"mmm I get done mowing very quick. It was 85 degrees out couple days ago and was messing around filling the balast box with rocks and had a hard time getting it attached with the regular 3pt, was sweating to death. I never owned a tractor with 3pt. Needless to say....i got the imatch system for dummies, just back up, grab it and go. ....

Hi Dennis -
Thanks for the welcome

the 2520 replaced the 4100 - a nice upgrade in many ways.
The cub is still around and basically mows but most of the mowing is now with a new stand on ZTR (wright stander)
everything is used both personally and commerically

I will try an upgrade the pictures - ....

I thought I would post a few pictures of a huge maple stump I worked on - the 2520 & 46 BH did an excellent job - the goal was not to use an axe, and it worked

enjoy!
