I have one day to decide on buying a 2001 Kubota L3000DT before it is traded on a newer model. It has 86 hours and appears in great shape. Its being offered at $10,800 through a private seller. It has a 66 inch kubota loader. No other impliments. R4 tires in great shape. Ive been looking for an L3010 or L3400 but they've all been in the 15k range. Any thoughts what kind of value the L3000dt is at that price and whether it is worth waiting to get one of the newer models? The 5k difference really has me leaning toward the L3000dt.

A new comparable would be between the L-2800 and the L-3400 tractors. The grand L-s are just that Grand in features compared to the L-3000. ....

Art, I was hoping you might respond. Any thought on whether the 10,800 price sounds like it is a good value? I am aware of the many feature upgrades in the newer grands, but am thinking the 5k difference would be better spent on impliments. I am seeing L3000's going in the 13k range, but frankly there aren't that many for sale at this time to get a good sense of the value. ....

Thanks for the info. As a dealer I assume you have some level of warranty? Do industrial tire cost more than ag?
I think my only hesistion at this point is the manual trans. Seems like the hst is much more practical, but as an occassional user, rather than a professional mybe this isn't a big deal. ....

The R-4 tires do sell for more. The hydro is an easier tractor for many to learn on then a gear drive and they are a bit more forgiving. The PTO is always easy to operate with the hydro. The L-3000DT is a good tractor and depending on your uses and your pocket book is what makes it right for you. ....

Thanks Art, your measured responses are very helpful. I've made a 10.5k offer for the tractor knowing that I mught trade up in the future without too much loss in value if the L3000 doesn't suit my needs. ....
