My 1979 JD 314 has a 14hp Kohler engine and it is ready for a rebuild. Has anyone out there swapped this engine out for a larger one? I've seen some pictures where folks have put different engines in 300s, 317s, and 318s.

I haven't but know people who have. A rebuild will cost you a lot less. A new engine starts at $1400. Rebuild $400 to $600. Depends on what you do. ....
