Hi

I bought a Long 2360 a few months back. It's in rough shape because it's been left outside and the guy's healthy is failing so he couldn't take care of it.

I the biggest issue is right now every time the tractor is running the valve in the picture leaks out fluid. It only happens when its running. If the valve needs to be replaced where do i get it and what is the valve used for?

I don't know really much about the tractor or how they work as this is my first tractor.

I've ordered parts from www.longparts.com before. They've got a pretty good selection so you may be able to find what you need on their website. They also sell manuals, which might be helpful for you. ....

If you need a manual, this will get you much of the info you need as the 2360 is not that much different than the 360.

Long Service Manual for 360-460-510 series.pdf 6.0 MB

Being under the seat it most likely is for the lift. Is there linkage on this valve? ....

I agree with KThompson. This is most likely your 3-point hitch drop speed control valve.

When you lower your 3 point hitch, this valve will control the speed of drop, allowing you to have some control over how fast the implement drops.

That valve can likely be rebuilt with nothing more than a few common O-rings.

If you remove the stem of the valve, you'll probably find a needle point on the end of the stem. The stem should also have a few O-rings installed on it. One or more of the O-rings may be missing, so if you find a groove that has no O-ring in it, there was probably one there at one time.

Hope this helps.

Joel ....

Great you both are most likely correct. The 3 point hitch is very very slow to go down and will not go down if nothing is attached to it without me physical standing on it.

That would make since why its slow correct since it's leaking?

Do i need to drain the hydralic fluid out or just unscrew the valve and examine it and replace the orings needed? I guess i could most likely get them from Oriellys hopefully? ....
