What type fluid are people using in the MF 65 diesels with power steering. I've heard use dextron transmission fluid and don't ever use dextron use the same hydraulic oil as in the transmission and rear end. Can't find any info in the manual.

In the manual that came with that tractor it calls for Type A transmission fluid for the power steering system.

However, later on Massey realized that some Type A fluid was causing problems with internal seals, likely stuff with too much ‘seal conditioners’ in it. They then change the recommendation to use either regular hydraulic fluid of the appropriate weight, or standard TDH universal tractor hydraulic fluid.

We’ve always just used the TDH in them and never had a problem.

Best of luck. ....

Thanks, I think I will go to the hydraulic fluid used in the transmission. Seems to be what is used on everything that is newer tractors and I don't see how it could damage anything. ....
