Good afternoon
I am hoping someone could help me. I am looking for a used repair manual for a New Holland TC29 tractor.
My Dad has the TC29 and thinks he broke a tooth off a gear on the PTO (I think he said something like that anyway).
I would like to surprise him with a manual but can't really afford to spend alot of money on one.
He used to work on our older tractors but that was a long time ago & he mentioned that he would like to have a reapir manual on this tractor.
I tried ebay and lost out on a bid there so I am kinda reaching a dead end.

I.T> might make a manual for that model, mostly they make them for older tractors though. ....

Kinda looked for a it manual looks like they might not make one. The ford/newholland model before the tc29 was a 1725 i think they are the same tractor just a diff model #. Have you just tried to get the pto part of the repair manual, they do come in sections? And what is the pto doin or not doin? ....

Thanks for replying. I appreciate it. I talked with my Dad and he said, (now I hope I get this right) the PTo is turning but it is making a noise, more of a thumping noise. He ran up over a rock with his bush hog (?) attached. He thinks that the gear has broken a "tooth" and it's skipping. So, he can attach his toys and they will run but of course he doesn't want to cause more damage to his tractor by doing that. I found an auction for one on ebay (I think there were 5 manuals total) and the person would only sell them as a set (understandably), and I was outbid.

Part # for nh manual is 86599233 it covers the trans, clutch, pto, diff, real axle and brakes, didn,t come up with a price. The noise you hear, is ther any implement hoked to the tractor or will it do it on its own. ....

My dad says that the noise is coming from inside the pto shaft and only when the pto is engaged. Does that help?

You can look at most of the pto components by removing the lift cover, not to hard to do will take some time though. ....

Thanks again for your help. I have passed along your information to my dad. I was able to find a place that would order the specific repair manual for the tractor pto, so I ordered that for my dad. Hopefully that will help and then if he wants to complete the set, now I know where to go.
