I have a TZ which came with a FEL and a Farm King PTO finish mower. One of my properties has a lot of trees that were planted about 30 years ago when the place was originally landscaped so the PTO mower is not very useful.
I am going to buy a MMM but was wondering if there are any other brands that would fit the TZ or am I going to have to pay what the NH dealer wants?

I have never seen any aftermarket non-OEM MMM's. I'd try eBay. There is a seller that seems to have many of the ones you need complete and still in the crate---and cheap too---sometimes $100! ....

I didn't think that there would be non-OEM mowers but it is worth a try. A MMM is about $1800 from the Dealer!
I can buy a decent ride-on mower for about the same price but I have one and want to keep it on one property (and the other property is a 3hr drive away). It seems a waste to have the TZ and not have a usable mower. I'll check e-bay.

I found a guy on ebay selling a MMM model 914A in the crate. Not sure wether it fits the TZ line though.
He (or she) says it fits the Boomer line of tractors (TC's) but my TZ manual says the model # is a 54CMS.
Anybody know? ....

When I was in the market he wasn't selling the 914--of course!
If you search for other posts about this subject you'll find Oneace is the expert oin this. If I recall correctly, the short answer is no it won't fit your TZ. I think the major issue is bracketry/fitment.
I realize the mowers are pricey but you do get what you pay for. My neighbor bought his '05 TZ at a garage sale for $9G and it came with a MMM and FEL. It cuts really nice. ....

One thing in my favor is I do have a virtually brand new finish mower that I can sell to cover some/most of the cost of the MMM. Maybe I'll see if the dealer will take a trade... ....

The 914 will not fit at all. Brackets have nothing to do with it. The front and rear tractor wheel are what the problem is. ....
