I have a nortrrac 40 hp and can't find a oil filter to fit it. m24x2 treads any body know the right filter ?

Yes I went there and the filter they said would fit didn't. I also have there people looking for one with m24x2 threads or adapper so I can get some thing on there. ....

That's too bad, but I've found all to often that minimum wage store employees aren't all that disposed to go that extra mile forya. I'm thinkin' email Northern's hq in Minnesota - the ones that put out the catalog - and give them the info that's on your engine label. Good chance you can get a few filters via mail order that way.
Alternatively, Rural King also sells that tractor - as their TK404 (Tractor King). Once again, the stores employ minimum wage types, but their hq in Mattoon (IL) may be able to help out via mail order.

We have a NT304C and had the same problem. NAPA can cross reference filters by thread size. WIX also lists filters this way. Northern kept telling us to use a Fram PH8A. The problem was finally fixed when they sent use a new filter adapter that bolts to the side of the engine. Unscrewed the old adapter threaded piece and put the new one in and now the PH8A works. We found an Audi filter with the proper metric treads that would work, before we got the proper fix. ....
