I have another question about insulation. We are building a 2700 sq ft ranch house. Blown in fiberglass with 6mm poly vapor is $5000. Icynene foam insulation will cost $9500. Is it worth the extra $$$? Will I seal up the house so tight, I will then have to buy a $2500 air exchanger? There is an extra $7grand over fiberglass. We will be living in this house for 20-30 years.

I am a licensed builder in Michigan. Icynene is not the product to use. It is an open cell foam you want a closed cell foam as it has about double the r value per inch. I use foam in all my homes and will never go back to pink insulation. Also shop around you can cut that price in about half. ....
