Ok.. I am sure there has been discussions on tillers.. actually I know there has been as I have read several and unfortunately I haven't been convinced on which one to buy... if they weren't so darn expensive I would just buy any old one.. Since I have a NH TC33 I am looking for something that can be powered by about 27 Hp. Having one shipped to me is an option but not if the cost of shipping brings it way over something like the KK for 999.00 at TSC. Also, I have concern of having a unit shipped in whatever it is that might need servicing and what to do about it if it breaks...

Ok... so can those of you that have tillers give me some good advice "Chain or Gear" or whatever I should be concerned about... it is getting closer to spring and I need to get one soon.. MANY Thanks...

I am still in the market for a tiller. I still can't believe the prices for these units. I have seen the KUHN, BushHog, Landpride, Rhino, King Kutter, Frontier, and the Rotovator and still can't decide. The next unit I am going to go look at is the Befco. I had a Befco finish mower and wasn't very pleased with it... ....

Take a look a baltic tillers They are the heaviest agricultural tillers on the market, lasting 20-30 years.
As far as befco, many of my dealer friends sell them but have told me that they are not a very good value and poor on durability but sell well to the Kubota crowd because it matches color and performance of their tractors. ....

Anyone got experience with Bush Hog Tillers? I'm looking at a 5' tiller and can't decide between the Bush Hog ($1629) and King Kutter II ($1250). Both have slip cluth, look sturdy. But the posts on here say KKIIs are hard to get parts for. What about Bush Hog?

Also from your experiences, is there a big advantage/disadvantage in the number of blade sets and blades/set? KKII has 7 sets w/ 6 blades each, Bush Hog has 10 sets w/ 4 blades each. ....

We had one on a six hundred acre produce farm. Quite a few problems with seal leaks and bearings. The top shaft casing cracked as well. I have since discovered that it is made by maletti, who has been in and out of bankruptcy several times. Overall, the tiller does a good job when working, but replacemnt cost for the tines are quite high. ....

There are 5 distributors in the USA carrying them now. They have been sold in Europe for 15 years. All the quality tillers are either made or purchase all their key components from Europe. They are also marketed under the name Pyramid MFG, Cleveland, TN. Landpride & King Kutter is purchasing some of their components from China just to try to reduce costs, one wonders about LP & KK's quality? ....

Does an excellent job.
