Does anyone have any experience with the top and tilt from Terrain Contour Control? www.topandtilt.com/prod01.html

Have a 750JD that I need that type of luxury added to it. Checked Gearmore and they are pretty proud of their kit at $2100 and JD of course is more than that. The TCC T&T is $1,200 and has expandable joy stick control.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I got my top and tilt cylinders and hoses from Carter and Carter Machinery.
I recommend them, the top/tilt cylinders have check valves so they don't leak off, prices were good and everything I ordered was delivered to my house within a few days.
Valves and kits also availible. ....

Not the same outfit, but both sell the type of equipment to put together Top-n-Tilt systems. The one to which you refer is actually Integration Engineering up in Illinois. CCM is down in Tennessee

We built our own system, now on a cable control joystick ( see pics ). The whole set up, before the cable joystick, was about $350. The cable remote system was another $200. The valves and remote plugs are all bracketed under the tractor so there are no hoses dangling off the machine anywhere. There are three remote plugs on our system, two cylinder control, and one motor control. We really didn't like the ROPS mounted systems, too many hoses dangling off the machine to get tangled up in the work.

For a total of $550, this system works as well as any on the market, with the added advantage of cable remote control valves. The fabrication and hydraulic circuits are simple and straight forward. All the parts are readily available, and for a weekend of fabrication work, it is worth the savings. We've been using the system for grading work for 2 years with no problems. Couldn't imagine being without it. ....

Beagle,

That is probably what I will do also. Not familiar with a cable control joystick. Looked at your picture and still could not figure it out. I would think that joy stick is where you can use it when looking back and the contol valve is located down out of the way as you said.

Was there any place special that you got your parts at? Im sure that there is many different control vavle and I have no idea of what is required. Quess I had better go talk to my local tractor dealer.

....

The parts were purchased from SurplusCenter. The cylinder ends and all the brackets were fabricated in our shop. The cable remote system is from Prince Hydraulics. Yes, the cable remote allows you to mount the joystick where it convenient and functional, and mount the valves out of the way. The valve will need to be a Power Beyond capable valve with 4-way spools, probably 9-12gpm.

If you want more specific information, let me know. ....

Beagle, Checked Prince Hydralics for the remote and didn't find it so sent them a message about it. Think I am getting to know more of the hydralic control ease. Checked out hydralics 101. What it didn't say was what a power beyond capable valve was. Will you help me out on that?
Thanks ....

I understand you are in California and a "road trip" would not be feasable or practical. I on the other hand am just acrossed his border. Hmmm Extremely lucky for him I did not end up with that deal. Have you decided on any course of action yet? I would be interested to know for I may be in his local next month. Let me know what you plan on doing because if I travel to his location maybe a face to face with his dad would help? I love meeting true asswipes face to face and watching their expressions.
Sorry to hear your misfortune ....

mfrost... a power beyond is not a valve per se. It is an extension of full hydraulic pressure and flow that you can break open and insert tool like a backhoe, top and tilt, log splitter, or anything that has its own selective control valve.

You NEVER want to run the tractor with the P/B uncoupled. There must always be a continuous return flow to the sump. ....

The control valve body must have a Power Beyond Port. Not all valve bodies are PB compatable, or have a Power beyond Port. Make sure the valve has Power Beyond, or you won't be able to have the continuous pump flow to downsteam circuits. All valves exhaust to the reservoir in open center systems. Closed center system dead head at the valve. ....

Beagle, Well I finally got an operators manual and it says to only use a 3 port(in, out, BYD) remote cylinder vavle and is connected to the rocker shaft ports and the transmission case. Sounds simple but as you said, getting it all bred together maybe another story. ....

Great, now make sure it is a 4-way, PB capable valve. You need the three flow ports; in-out-PB, but also need to make sure the spool is 4-way to control double acting cylinders. 3-way valve spools control single acting culinders. ....

Both terms, PB & BYD are used to identify the "power beyond" port depending on the manufacturer.

One term, PB seems to be more prevalent in North America, while BYD is more widely used in Europe.

Best of luck. ....
