I'm Looking to buy a tractor that will allow me to move dirt and dig foundations as I'm about to build a house and supporting buildings at the Lake in South Carolina. A friend I trust suggested a John Deere 35 horsepower. I want to help friends here at a price of less than $20,000. Please suggest the best size and make for the money including a trailer.

I only know of one tractor/loader/backhoe that you could purchase with a trailer for under $20k..... a Kubota BX22.
Well.... ok, two. The other would be a Kioti 1914. It would come in maybe $1k more than the BX and would just squeak in under the limit with a trailer.
A Kubota B7500 might be in the ballpark, but over the $20k line and the only T/L/B Deere anywhere near your limit would be used, quite used. ....

I have a 2001 John Deere 790 (30HP, 4WD, R1 tires) with a 70 loader and #7 backhoe for sale for $17,500. It has 70 hours on it and is in excellent condition. I live in Hendersonville, NC. 828-693-9283. ....
